Itinerary
The tour begins when tourists arrive at the rafting company's office in La Fortuna.
Then, we’ll drive for 45 minutes in a modern, comfortable air-conditioned bus to river.
Duration: Approximately 45 min to balsa river or one hour to Sarapiqui River.
Upon arrival at the River, tourguides will outfit you with the necessary gear (life jacket, helmet, and paddle)
Tourguides will provide a comprehensive safety briefing to ensure you have a safe experience.
Tourguides are guides are bilingual, certified, and have at least 10 years of experience.
Duration: Approximately 10 min.
Tourists will start the rapid descent—a 10-kilometer journey filled with around 25 rapids, offering exciting waves and plenty of splashes over 2 hours.
Along the way, we’ll stop to enjoy some seasonal fruits, such as pineapples, watermelons, or mangoes, and take a break at a scenic riverside spot.
During the tour, you’ll have the chance to see a diverse range of wildlife and flora, along with breathtaking scenes of dense vegetation and landscapes; plus, the water temperature is perfect for swimming.
Duration: Approximately 2 Hours.
Tourists will be transported back to reception.
At the end of the tour, driver will be waiting for you with the bus, water, and towels to return to La Fortuna.
You will heat to La Fortuna to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and coffee, and you can also view fun photos of yourself in the rapids.

What to Bring
- Swimwear: Bring a swimsuit. For women, leggings or yoga pants are recommended instead of bikinis, which might require constant adjustment.
- Footwear: Wear secure shoes (e.g., hiking shoes, water shoes, sneakers, or diving boots) that cover your toes and offer good ankle support.
- Sunscreen: Use sunscreen, but avoid applying it to your forehead or the backs of your legs before the tour to prevent irritation and slippage.
- Extra Clothing: Bring additional dry clothes so you can change after the excursion and enjoy your meal comfortably.
- Secure Storage: Leave valuables such as phones, backpacks, and extra clothing safely on the bus with the driver.

Balsa II III: Ages 6 and up.
Balsa III IV: Ages 8 and up.
